The work is meant to recognize the U.S. military personnel who dedicate their lives to honoring the nation's fallen heroes by recovering remains, retrieving and returning the personal effects of the fallen, performing military burials, and offering support and grief counseling among other duties. working synopsis... Staff Sergeant (SSG) Duncan has been in the U.S. Army for five years. During his time in the service, he has seen multiple casualties, both friends and foe. He began his army career as a demolitions expert, but the stress became too great. He switched careers after three years, and opted to work with the mortuary affairs unit, which he thought would be less stressful. Unbeknownst to him at the time, he basically traded one form of stress for another.

SSG Duncan is a soldier in a mortuary affairs unit responsible for the care of the remains of military personnel killed on duty or otherwise. Duncan and the rest of his unit has to deal with the stress due to the atrocities seen fulfilling their commitment, and their personal hardships at home.
